Synthetic biology applies engineering principles to biology, aiming to design and build new biological parts, devices, and systems, or redesign existing living systems for useful purposes.
Delivered in collaboration with the Oxford Synthetic Biology Society and the Oxford ZERO Institute, this event will demystify synthetic biology and reveal how it can drive transformative solutions on the path to Net Zero. From turning CO2 into insulin to decarbonising the aviation industry come and learn how biology can be engineered to work for the planet.
This event will bring together four expert voices from academia, industry and policy to give you a holistic understanding of how synthetic biology aims to make an impact in climate tech in the next 10 years.
Each speaker will deliver a concise 10–15 minute presentation, followed by an interactive 40-minute panel discussion. The evening will conclude with drinks and nibbles—an ideal opportunity to continue the conversation, network with innovators, and explore how synthetic biology can help build a sustainable future.
