New Opportunity for Entrepreneurs in Oxford – Office Hours

The ZERO Institute Founders Network and Oxford Edge are pleased to announce the launch of new ‘Office Hours’ sessions: an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to meet one-on-one with experts in entrepreneurship and innovation in Oxford.  

Sessions take place nearly every Wednesday during Trinity Term between 1-3pm in the Networking Room at Oxford Edge, 37 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LD, and can be booked here.

Each Office Hours session gives attendees the opportunity to meet different people and tap their unparalleled expertise in developing viable climate businesses discussing things such as growth strategy, marketing, IP, funding and more.

29th April Peter Spark Strategy Consultant in Low Carbon New Ventures 

Peter is a low carbon entrepreneur committed to bringing new ventures, products and services to market that accelerate the creation of a global low carbon economy. He has a track record in low carbon new venture development, market analysis, opportunity identification with financial and carbon accounting, project assessment, project management and portfolio analysis.  

Peter can help with: Growth strategy, access to R&D funding – any business that is low carbon. 

6th May Boris Gragera CEO and Co-founder of INITION ENERGY 

Entrepreneur with 14 years of experience in battery cell R&D, production, and commercialisation. Boris has founded and led companies across global innovation hubs including South Korea, the US, Ireland and the UK. At INITION ENERGY he’s working to make battery production profitable, sustainable and accessible for high-performance industries. 

Boris can help with: Scaling up tech from lab to the market, go to market strategies, team creation, how to find a Co-founder, funding, IP management, learning from mistakes   

13th May Tom Fox KPMG Emerging Giants & University Partnerships 

Tom builds KPMG’s strategic partnerships with universities to deliver deep and commercially useful insights to businesses, amplifying growth, innovation and productivity in regional economies, while supporting the universities in the commercialisation of their research and the career readiness of their students. As part of the Emerging Giants team, he has been supporting scaleup companies across the South of England and Wales for the last 10 years.

20th May Anthony Strong Senior Licensing & Ventures Manager at Oxford University Innovation 

Anthony drives the commercialisation of cutting-edge research from the University of Oxford. Specialising in clean tech, Anthony works closely with academic innovators to translate breakthrough science into impactful, scalable solutions for a sustainable future. With a background in chemistry and a decade in industrial R&D, he brings both technical insight and strategic vision to the development of technologies tackling the climate crisis.

10th June Ali Merifield Director, Communications & Knowledge Management at Proforest

The opportunity is open to Oxford University staff, students and members of the public interested in exploring entrepreneurship and business development in the climate space. Office hours are held every Wednesday in Trinity Term except May 27th.
