The Oxford Energy Day is a free, annual multidisciplinary conference hosted by the Oxford Energy Network and the ZERO Institute at the University of Oxford. It brings together researchers, industry practitioners and policymakers to explore critical issues and innovations surrounding the global energy transition.
This year’s theme is Resilient Energy Systems: Research, Policy & Practice.
Improving energy system resilience is essential at a time of fossil fuel price shocks, rapid socio-technical change and increased dependence on electricity in multiple critical infrastructures. From advances in individual technologies, to whole systems modelling and socio-political analysis, Oxford Energy Day offers a range of insights on increasing the resilience of our evolving energy systems.
This year’s programme will explore topics including:
⚡ Technologies for Resilience – batteries & storage, new materials, renewables, efficiency and control systems
📈 Economics for Resilience – market design, innovation, business opportunities
🔐 Energy Security – electrification, demand reduction, diversification and the role of fossil fuels
🏛️ Organising for Resilience – data flows, governance and policy
👥 Resilience for Whom? – business, community and household perspectives
🌍 Resilience & the Environment – future climates, risks and system feedbacks
We’re delighted to welcome an outstanding line-up of speakers the full list of which can be found by following this link.
