Throughout his career, Dr. Ulderico Ulissi has operated at the intersection of academia and industry. As managing director of Vertide Studio and in his role at the ZERO Institute, he focuses on translating fundamental research into impact.
Previously, Dr. Ulissi held key leadership roles at CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), the world’s leading battery manufacturer. Serving as Principal, Head of Global Climate Ventures, and Senior Manager in Technology Strategy, he directed investment theses and due diligence to vet next-generation climate technologies for commercial viability. Prior to CATL, his background spanned consulting, market research, and hands-on technical leadership. He served as the European Technical Lead for energy storage research at Nissan Motor, and at OXIS Energy Ltd., he managed the design and customer delivery of pre-A-sample lithium-sulfur battery cells and modules.
His academic footprint includes a published book, five patents, and over 20 peer-reviewed publications, garnering approximately 1,750 citations and an H-index of 15.
