On 31 October, the ZERO Institute ECR Network hosted its Michaelmas Term Launch Reception at the Oxford e-Research Centre, bringing together early career researchers, senior academics, and industry practitioners working across the energy transition.
The event opened with a warm welcome from Prof Tinka Marquardt, who outlined ZERO’s vision for interdisciplinary, high-impact research impact. Prof Jesús Lizana highlighted ZERO’s latest research activities, and Anastasiia Rudkovska presented upcoming opportunities for ECR engagement, collaboration, and skills development throughout the year.
A highlight of the event was the presentation delivered by members of the ASHRAE Winning Team, Nethmi Jayaratne Kariyawasam, Guyatri Sundar, and Cuicheng Zhang, who showcased their project and shared reflections on their journey.
The reception concluded with a lively networking lunch, where attendees exchanged ideas, explored potential collaborations, and connected with peers across departments and disciplines.
